The European Union sanctioned Viktor Ivanov, director general of NII TP, the Roscosmos subsidiary that develops the Kasatka-R synthetic aperture radar system for the Russian military, along with several other Russian defense-industry executives, including Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant's Aleksandr Dyukarev and Serpukhov Plant Metallist's Ramil Badgutdinov, on August 7, per SpaceNews and European Pravda. NII TP itself was already under EU sanctions since June 15, 2026, and under US Treasury sanctions since July 2023; the new measures freeze the named individuals' EU assets, bar EU entities from providing them funds, and bar their entry into the EU.
