VinSpace signs SpaceX launch deal for Vietnam's first satellites
VinSpace · SpaceX
Vietnam's VinSpace signed a SpaceX Transporter rideshare contract to launch its first satellites in 2027.

what happened
VinSpace, a unit of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, signed a contract with SpaceX to launch its first satellites on a Transporter rideshare mission in the second quarter of 2027, the company said in a press release. VinSpace, incorporated in November 2025 with founder Pham Nhat Vuong holding a 71% stake, will develop, manufacture, and operate the satellites itself; it did not disclose the contract's value or the satellites' number or specifications.
why it matters
VinSpace becomes one of the first Vietnamese companies to book a dedicated satellite launch, a marker of Southeast Asia's push toward homegrown space capability. For SpaceX and other rideshare providers, it is another sign of demand from first-time national operators beyond the established EO and connectivity players that fill most Transporter manifests.
