Speedcast deployed an all-LEO Starlink connectivity solution across TGS's seismic survey fleet under a multi-year deal.

Speedcast announced August 19 it has implemented an all-LEO connectivity solution, centered on Starlink's Dedicated Service, across the global fleet of TGS, a data and intelligence provider to the energy industry, under a multi-year deal, per Via Satellite. The deployment covers TGS's high-capacity multi-sensor streamer vessels and Ocean Bottom Node operations and is orchestrated alongside Eutelsat OneWeb and other LEO networks by Speedcast's SIGMA Elite edge-compute platform. Speedcast said the solution enables near-real-time transmission and remote cloud processing of a full-integrity seismic data set of up to 10 terabytes a day at sustained upload speeds of 1 gigabit per second, replacing the physical transport of survey media from vessels. TGS Vice President Enterprise IT Jerome Cousin said the combination of high-performance connectivity and TGS's cloud operating model lets the company "securely manage and process ever-larger seismic datasets at unprecedented speed."
