what happened

Galaxia acquired a HyperScape100 hyperspectral imaging payload from Simera Sense, per SpaceNews. The compact CubeSat-class imager delivers 32 user-selectable spectral bands drawn from a library of more than 400 bands across the visible and near-infrared range, reconfigurable in orbit.

why it matters

The purchase adds hyperspectral capability to Galaxia's optical Earth observation portfolio, letting it offer richer spectral data for agriculture, mineral exploration, water-quality, and defense customers alongside its existing imagery, without developing the payload in-house.
