TrustPoint taps EnduroSat to build 40-satellite C-band GNSS constellation
TrustPoint · EnduroSat
TrustPoint contracted EnduroSat US to build 40 satellites for its C-band GNSS service, taking its constellation plan to 47 satellites.

what happened
TrustPoint, a startup building a commercial GNSS positioning, navigation and timing service, contracted EnduroSat US to build and deliver 40 satellites in three batches, with the first set to launch no earlier than 2027, the companies announced, per Payload and SatNews. The 40 new satellites take TrustPoint's constellation plan to 47, including three already-launched demonstration satellites and four more in development under a SpaceWERX Tactical Funding Increase award, per Via Satellite. TrustPoint CEO Patrick Shannon said the award marks the company's move from testing into full-scale operations after three earlier demonstration satellites, telling Via Satellite the transition to production comes in 2027 and that the company sees "tremendous" inbound interest from governments and organizations seeking GNSS alternatives amid rising electronic-warfare interference.
why it matters
TrustPoint's C-band signal design avoids the crowded L-band spectrum public GPS uses and needs less international spectrum negotiation, and committing to 40 satellites signals the company is scaling past demos toward a commercial GPS-alternative service that resellers of positioning data could plug into.
