Hydrosat unveils Osiris constellation for 2027 launch
Hydrosat
Hydrosat's next-generation satellites pair higher-resolution thermal and visible imaging in one payload.

what happened
Hydrosat unveiled Osiris, its next-generation Earth observation constellation and the successor to its in-orbit VanZyl-1 and VanZyl-2 satellites. Each Osiris satellite carries five sensors: one long-wave infrared imager delivering 25-meter resolution over a 160-340km swath, and four visible near-infrared sensors imaging as fine as 10 meters. The first two Osiris satellites are expected to launch in 2027.
why it matters
Osiris roughly doubles Hydrosat's resolution over its current VanZyl fleet (30m visible, 70m thermal) while keeping the wide swath that supports always-on, global stripmapping. That combination lets Hydrosat push further into general EO competition without giving up the thermal niche that has already won it NASA, NRO and SpaceWERX contracts.
