NASA names Crew-14 astronauts for spring 2027 ISS mission
NASA assigned Kayla Barron, Chris Birch, Makoto Suwa and Arutyun Kiviryan to its 14th SpaceX crew rotation to the ISS.

what happened
NASA said Sept. 24 that Kayla Barron will command and Chris Birch will pilot the agency's 14th SpaceX commercial crew rotation to the International Space Station, joined by JAXA's Makoto Suwa and Roscosmos's Arutyun Kiviryan as mission specialists. The four will launch no earlier than spring 2027 and join Expedition 75/76 for a long-duration science expedition; it is the second spaceflight for Barron, who previously flew on Crew-3, and the first for the other three.
why it matters
The assignment keeps NASA's long-running commercial crew rotation with SpaceX and its international partners on schedule, with JAXA and Roscosmos each again flying a seat under the station's standard partner crew-exchange arrangement.
