Rocket Lab signs 20-launch Electron deal with Synspective, its largest ever
Rocket Lab's biggest-ever commercial Electron deal adds 20 more launches for Synspective's StriX SAR constellation.
what happened
Rocket Lab signed a multi-year agreement with Tokyo-based Synspective for 20 new Electron missions, the company's largest commercial Electron contract to date. The deal brings Synspective's total contracted Electron missions to 47, the most of any Rocket Lab customer, with launches of StriX synthetic aperture radar satellites to sun-synchronous orbit from Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1 scheduled annually from 2028 through 2031. Rocket Lab says the agreement pushes its total launch backlog beyond 100 missions; financial terms were not disclosed.
why it matters
Synspective is already Rocket Lab's largest launch customer by mission count, and locking in dedicated capacity through 2031 gives both companies multi-year visibility as smallsat operators compete for scarce launch slots. For Synspective, it secures the lift needed to keep scaling its SAR constellation; for Rocket Lab, it is another data point in a year of multi-launch deals that has pushed its backlog past 100 missions.
