what happened

AnySignal announced an agreement to deliver space-to-earth communications for Reflect Orbital's inaugural satellite mission and two subsequent missions, per SpaceNews and the companies' joint release. AnySignal will supply its USX multi-band software-defined radio transceivers, which combine high-rate payload downlink and telemetry/tracking/command functions in one module, plus its AnyLink software, which lets Reflect Orbital's ground team access multiple ground-station-as-a-service providers through one interface. No financial terms were disclosed.

why it matters

Reflect Orbital is building satellites that redirect sunlight to ground targets; locking in a comms vendor across three missions ahead of its debut flight reduces one of its integration risks. For AnySignal, it is a multi-mission reference customer for its consolidated radio-and-ground-software approach, relevant to other small-satellite operators weighing whether to build or buy comms and ground-network access.
