ICEYE launches four more SAR satellites, reaching 84 in orbit
ICEYE · CTI Aeroespacial · SpaceX
Two of the four fly for Portugal's Atlantic Constellation as ICEYE works toward doubling annual output to 100 satellites by 2027.

what happened
ICEYE launched four new SAR satellites aboard SpaceX's Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission from Cape Canaveral on October 20, its second launch of the month after an October 1 Transporter-18 flight. The company says it has now launched 84 SAR satellites for itself and its customers. Two of the four were procured by CTI Aeroespacial for Portugal's Atlantic Constellation with the Portuguese Air Force, joining two earlier satellites launched this year, including Portugal's first sovereign SAR satellite. ICEYE says seven European governments have now procured sovereign satellite systems from the company, and it is working to double its production rate from 50 to 100 satellites a year in 2027.
why it matters
ICEYE's sovereign-satellite sales model, selling dedicated SAR satellites to national governments rather than just imagery subscriptions, keeps adding repeat customers, and the stated production-rate doubling signals the company expects that demand to keep scaling rather than plateau.
