Remondo and Meissa sign MOU on AI-powered satellite operations
Remondo · Meissa
The Israeli and South Korean companies will explore combining optical payload hardware with AI-driven tasking and image-processing software.
what happened
Remondo, an Israeli developer of high-resolution Earth observation payload technology, and Meissa, a South Korean satellite operations and imagery-processing software provider, signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly explore AI-enabled satellite operations and automated image processing. The companies say they intend to pursue joint research and development combining Remondo's optical payload and constellation technology, including its Partial Aperture Imaging System, with Meissa's operations and processing software, aiming at imagery resolution of 30 centimeters or finer from small satellites. No financial terms were disclosed.
why it matters
This is an early-stage research MOU, not a signed product or revenue contract, but it points at a trend of smaller EO players pairing hardware and AI-operations software rather than building both in house. Nothing here commits either company to a delivery date or a customer.
