ICEYE is combining its SAR satellites with OroraTech's thermal data to track wildfires from first detection through damage assessment.

ICEYE and OroraTech announced a partnership integrating OroraTech's thermal satellite data with ICEYE's SAR observations. OroraTech's satellites detect and track active fire fronts day and night, while ICEYE's SAR satellites see through smoke, cloud and darkness to assess building-level damage, ICEYE said.

Governments, insurers, utilities and emergency services get one shared event timeline instead of stitching together separate thermal and radar feeds, compressing decision timelines for evacuation and pre-positioning calls. It extends ICEYE's run of wildfire-focused deals (Canada coverage, Liberty Mutual's parametric insurance product) into joint sensing with a dedicated thermal operator rather than ICEYE's SAR data alone.
