AgniKul and ICEYE sign MoU to build and launch SAR satellites from India
Per BIS Infotech: an MoU to design, manufacture and deploy SAR EO systems within India, pairing ICEYE tech with AgniKul launch.
what happened
Agnikul Cosmos and ICEYE signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at designing, manufacturing and deploying synthetic aperture radar Earth observation systems within India, per BIS Infotech, which describes a long-term, repeatable model linking regional satellite production with domestic launch rather than one-off missions. The announcement came at the end of June around the BharatInnovates event; no contract value or satellite count was stated.
why it matters
ICEYE keeps franchising its sovereign-SAR model, this time into India with a launch startup as the local anchor, days after its Dhruva Space MoU covered similar ground. If either materialises, India gets a domestic SAR manufacturing-and-launch loop and ICEYE gets position in a market where IN-SPACe is actively funding indigenous EO capability; for now it is exploratory, with no committed money.
