Myriota launches hybrid satellite and cellular IoT network
Myriota added cellular fallback to its HyperPulse satellite IoT network, priced from $0.99 a device per month.
what happened
Myriota said on July 1, 2026 that it added cellular connectivity to its HyperPulse non-terrestrial network, letting its AssetHawk tracker switch automatically between satellite and cellular coverage. The company said the hybrid service starts at $0.99 per device per month and will roll out later in July 2026 across the US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia.
why it matters
Sub-dollar hybrid satellite/cellular pricing narrows the cost gap with terrestrial-only IoT trackers, a segment where Astrocast, Kineis, and other satellite-IoT operators compete for the same asset-tracking customers. Automatic network failover removes a design tradeoff that has kept many trackers single-mode.
