Isar Aerospace to launch Planet's first German-built satellite mission

Isar's Spectrum rocket will carry a Planet Labs Germany Pelican Earth-observation satellite within about a year of the deal.

Per European Spaceflight and SpaceNews, Isar Aerospace and Planet Labs Germany announced on July 2, 2026 an agreement for Isar's Spectrum rocket to launch one Pelican Earth-observation satellite built by Planet's German subsidiary, targeted for less than 12 months after the agreement. Planet Labs Germany managing director Martin Polak was quoted on the deal, which also includes provisions for additional satellites on future Spectrum launches.
