Reditus Space completed development of its first reentry vehicle, ENOS, a 200-kilogram capsule with 40 kilograms of payload capacity, per Payload. The vehicle is scheduled to launch on a SpaceX rideshare mission this fall, spend about two months in orbit, then reenter at speeds as high as Mach 29 and splash down off the coast of Florida in December. More than 80% of the vehicle's mass is designed to be recovered for reuse, though this first flight will be largely single-use. The FAA published a Notice of Availability and opened a public comment period on its Draft Environmental Assessment for Reditus's ENOS reentries in the Gulf of America on Aug. 18, per the Federal Register; the comment period runs through Aug. 28, 2026.

Reditus joins a small but growing field of companies building free-flying reentry vehicles to return in-orbit science and manufacturing payloads as the ISS approaches retirement in the 2030s. A demonstrated, reusable return capability would let payload customers plan around routine Earth-return access rather than relying on crewed vehicles or one-off capsules.
