IN-SPACe, ISRO and the Department of Telecommunications' Wireless Planning and Coordination wing have found Reliance Jio's proposed 1,600-satellite low Earth orbit constellation technically sound and comparable to Starlink, Developing Telecoms reported July 17, citing an ETTelecom report based on anonymous government sources. The plan calls for roughly 1,600 satellites with 32 visible at any time, 4.5-5 Gbps of capacity, and at least 20 ground stations. Neither Reliance Jio nor IN-SPACe has confirmed the report.
