The facility houses engineering and biotech laboratories plus Redwire's Payload Operations Control Center, which oversees the company's science and manufacturing operations on the International Space Station, and serves as the operating hub for Space Microgravity Development LLC, Redwire's microgravity biotech venture. Redwire has flown more than 50 pharmaceutical experiments for clients including Eli Lilly and Bristol Myers Squibb and operates eight manufacturing and biotechnology platforms on the ISS, six of them developed at the Floyd County site, per WBIW.
