Spire Global and Italy's SATE announced a partnership on an 18-month research and development program called STRAIDE to build an AI system for real-time satellite health monitoring, anomaly diagnosis and predictive failure analysis, per Spire's own release. The program is funded through subscriptions to ESA's General Support Technology Programme by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the UK Space Agency (UKSA). SATE will contribute CLUE, its AI-based diagnostic system for continuously monitoring satellite 'vital signs,' detecting early warning signals and estimating time-to-failure for critical components, integrated into Spire's constellation operations.
