Kairospace said it deployed its Dorb de-orbiting device, a metal-coated polymer film that expands to increase atmospheric drag, on its KSAT3U cubesat, which launched on Korea's Nuri rocket in May 2023. The company said the satellite's orbital descent rate more than doubled after deployment and that KSAT3U remained operational, transmitting images of Busan New Port afterward. Kairospace CEO Shin Kyung-woo said the company plans further ground tests in Europe as part of its commercialization effort.
