Taiwan's National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) said a satellite launch vehicle it developed deviated from its intended trajectory shortly after liftoff from the Jiupeng Base in Pingtung County on its first test flight and was destroyed by its self-destruct system per pre-set procedures, per Focus Taiwan and Taipei Times. No injuries or property damage were reported; NCSIST said it will review telemetry and revise the vehicle's design. Pingtung County's government called on NCSIST to suspend further tests pending a review of launch procedures and flight paths.
