ICEYE brings Water Institute's FloodID team in-house for flood forecasting
ICEYE · The Water Institute
ICEYE is folding The Water Institute's FloodID predictive-flood platform and development team into its own products.

what happened
ICEYE announced a partnership with The Water Institute on Aug. 27 to bring FloodID, a predictive flood intelligence platform, and its development team into ICEYE. FloodID combines physics-based hydrologic modeling, physics-guided AI, Earth observation data, and cloud computing to produce forecasts that update as new satellite data arrives during a flood event. Hugh Roberts, who led FloodID at The Water Institute, joins ICEYE as Head of Predictive Intelligence.
why it matters
The move folds predictive flood modeling directly into ICEYE's SAR-based flood observation stack, aimed at US governments, insurers, and emergency-management customers who currently need separate forecasting and observation providers. No financial terms were disclosed.
for who
Flood insurers and US emergency-management agencies
