Eutelsat books two Ariane 64 launches to renew OneWeb
Eutelsat · Arianespace
Eutelsat selected Arianespace for two dedicated Ariane 64 launches in 2027 and 2028 to renew and expand its OneWeb LEO constellation.

what happened
Arianespace said Sept. 10 that Eutelsat has selected it for two dedicated Ariane 64 missions, in 2027 and 2028, to support the renewal of the OneWeb low-Earth-orbit constellation, flying from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. Arianespace previously flew 13 missions deploying 428 OneWeb satellites between 2019 and 2022. "These launches will play an important role as we renew OneWeb and secure the long-term future of our LEO network," said Eutelsat CEO Jean-Francois Fallacher.
why it matters
The order keeps OneWeb's LEO connectivity constellation on a European launcher as it moves into a renewal phase, reinforcing Arianespace's position with an existing anchor customer and Europe's push for sovereign, non-SpaceX launch access for its own satellite operators.
