SpaceX signs $1.11 billion-a-month AI computing deal
Per Yahoo Finance: SpaceX's new, unnamed AI-computing customer adds about $13 billion in annualized revenue starting in December.

what happened
SpaceX signed a new AI-computing hosting deal worth $1.11 billion a month, adding roughly $13 billion in annualized recurring revenue starting Dec. 1, 2026, CFO Bret Johnsen said Sept. 10 at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia and Technology Conference, per Yahoo Finance and TeslaNorth. Johnsen did not name the customer. The deal covers terrestrial AI data-center compute capacity, structured on roughly six-month terms with early-out options that let SpaceX reclaim capacity for its own AI work, including Grok and the recently acquired Cursor, per TeslaNorth. It follows previously disclosed compute deals with Anthropic ($1.25 billion a month) and Google ($920 million a month), and an earlier $6.7 billion, six-month deal, per Yahoo Finance.
why it matters
The disclosed compute deals together add roughly $45.7 billion in annualized revenue, and Johnsen said the new deal gives him "even more conviction" SpaceX can hit its stated $100 billion ARR target by year-end, alongside its rocket business and Starlink division. For a company that just went public, AI compute hosting is emerging as a third major revenue line alongside launch and Starlink.
