Impulse Space extends Series D to $808 million total
Impulse Space adds $308 million to its Series D, citing surging demand for in-space mobility services.

what happened
Impulse Space announced a $308 million extension to its Series D round, bringing the combined Series D total to $808 million. The round included existing investors 137 Ventures, BANNER VC, DFJ Growth, Linse Capital, Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners. The company said the capital funds product development, hiring and facility expansion, and it named Adam Townsend, formerly of Vizio, as its first Chief Financial Officer.
why it matters
The extension, on top of a $500 million Series D closed in June, points to a fast-growing backlog for Impulse's Mira and Helios orbital transfer vehicles as launch providers cut back on dedicated rideshare slots. A well-capitalized, fast-scaling in-space mobility provider gives satellite operators another way to reach custom orbits without waiting on a dedicated launch.
