The new Eutelsat lead (wire_pr via mynewsdesk.com, since eutelsat.com is the registry-matched first_party domain and mynewsdesk.com does not match) is a better source than the original Kymeta informal lead, so source_url is upgraded per the documented rescore path.

what happened

Kymeta's Kestrel u5 terminal received certification from TÜV Rheinland, Europe's rail-industry validation body, for compliance with the EN 50155, EN 45545-2 and EN 50121 standards, Kymeta announced Sept. 17. Eutelsat said Sept. 22 it has now run the first live trial of that terminal, testing OneWeb LEO connectivity aboard a PKP Intercity long-distance train travelling up to 160 km/h on the Kozłów-Warszawa-Tczew route, with ACO Solutions as systems integrator and Hispasat as distribution partner. The trial tested switching between satellite and terrestrial connectivity for passenger and operational communications; Eutelsat did not report performance metrics. Eutelsat Connectivity Business Unit president Eva Bisgaard called it "an important milestone... demonstrating how our LEO connectivity can support both the passenger experience and increasingly digital rail operations."

why it matters

The terminal can switch between LEO and GEO networks, and the certification cleared a gating requirement for satcom vendors selling into rail, a transportation vertical distinct from the maritime and aviation markets terminal makers have chased so far. The Poland trial is the first named operator test to follow that certification, giving Eutelsat OneWeb and Kymeta a concrete reference case for other European rail operators evaluating LEO connectivity.
