Eutelsat brings OneWeb LEO connectivity to Portugal via MEO deal
Eutelsat · MEO
Eutelsat and Portuguese telecom MEO signed a deal to integrate Eutelsat's OneWeb LEO services into MEO's connectivity offering.

what happened
Eutelsat said Sept. 23 it signed an agreement with MEO, Portugal's largest telecommunications operator, to bring Eutelsat's OneWeb LEO connectivity services to businesses, public administrations, municipalities and critical-infrastructure operators in Portugal. MEO will integrate the LEO services alongside its fiber and 5G networks as resilient backup connectivity. The deal builds on an existing infrastructure partnership under which MEO has hosted Eutelsat's ground-station infrastructure, first for its GEO fleet and now for OneWeb. Financial terms were not disclosed.
why it matters
The deal extends Eutelsat OneWeb's distribution in Europe through an established national telco's own sales channel and existing ground infrastructure, the kind of local reseller relationship that determines how much of Eutelsat's LEO capacity actually reaches paying enterprise and government customers rather than sitting unsold.
