Starlink launches Community Host program for shared access
Starlink's new Community Host program lets one subscriber sell hour, day, week and month passes to nearby users.

what happened
Starlink opened a beta for a Community Host program that lets a single Starlink Kit serve nearby users through paid Hour, Day, Week and Month passes, per Starlink's own Community Host page as reported by TeslaNorth. An Hour Pass covers one hour on one device, a Day Pass covers 24 hours on one device, a Week Pass covers seven days on one device, and a Month Pass covers a month on up to four devices; Starlink handles payments, user access and connectivity, leaving the host responsible for installing and running the site. Per BASENOR, the beta opened October 1 to applicants in the US, Mexico and Canada through a Community Beta interest form, and pricing has not yet been published.
why it matters
The program gives Starlink a way to extend coverage into areas where a full kit and subscription are not economical, using existing hosts as resellers rather than signing up every household directly. For regional ISPs and other community-Wi-Fi and direct-to-device providers, it is a new low-cost distribution channel competing for the same underserved, hard-to-reach customers.
