KSAT to build ground network for Xoople's Earth observation constellation
KSAT · Xoople
Xoople picked KSAT's KSATlite ground-segment service to support its new Earth-data constellation, the companies said.

what happened
Norway's KSAT and Earth-data company Xoople signed a partnership in Madrid on October 5, with Xoople selecting KSAT's fully automated KSATlite Ground Segment-as-a-Service to support deployment and operations of its satellite constellation, per KSAT's own release. KSAT will add new ground-station sites and build two new capabilities for Xoople: faster delivery of data from ground stations to the cloud, and new service endpoints that let Xoople further automate its own operations. Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Cecilie Myrseth, attended the signing between KSAT CCO Arild Jose Jensen and Xoople CEO Fabrizio Pirondini, per KSAT and PR Newswire.
why it matters
The deal is a vote of confidence in KSAT's commercial ground-segment-as-a-service model from a constellation operator building what Xoople calls Earth's "System of Record," and it gives KSAT a reason to keep expanding its KSATlite site network, infrastructure other emerging EO and connectivity operators can also use.
