Blue Origin to build $650 million satellite factory in Texas
Blue Origin's new Hutto campus will manufacture satellites for its TeraWave and Quartz programs, creating 2,000 jobs over 10 years.

what happened
Blue Origin announced a new 1.3 million-square-foot manufacturing campus called Constellation Park in Hutto, Texas, a $650 million investment expected to create up to 2,000 manufacturing and related jobs over the next 10 years, per FOX 7 Austin and KUT. The facility will produce satellites and hardware subsystems, including solar arrays, avionics and telecommunications equipment, for Blue Origin's TeraWave satellite communications network and its Quartz ground communications network. Blue Origin already employs more than 550 people in Texas and said it will partner with Hutto ISD on paid high school internships.
why it matters
The investment signals Blue Origin is committing serious capital to satellite manufacturing capacity ahead of TeraWave and Quartz reaching commercial scale, giving it in-house production for programs that will need to ramp output the way Amazon Leo and Starlink have had to. For Central Texas, it adds to a cluster of large tech manufacturing commitments (alongside Tesla and ASML) that a government or workforce partner evaluating the region's aerospace supply base would want to track.
