More than 200 suspected Starship fragments wash up on Mexico's Bagdad Beach
Conibio Global collected 200+ suspected SpaceX Starship fragments on a Tamaulipas beach and handed them to Mexico's environmental agency.

what happened
The Mexican conservation nonprofit Conibio Global said it collected more than 200 fragments in the first 400 meters of a cleanup at Playa Bagdad in Tamaulipas, suspecting they came from SpaceX's 14th Starship flight, launched September 28 from Boca Chica, Texas, per Mexico News Daily. Conibio Global said it delivered the material, which includes insulation and coating, to Mexico's federal environmental agency, Profepa. The origin of individual pieces has not been officially confirmed.
why it matters
Debris from Starship test flights has repeatedly washed up on Mexican beaches bordering Boca Chica, and this is the largest single reported collection yet. For SpaceX, recurring cross-border debris raises the odds of a binational regulatory or liability response as Starbase pushes toward a far higher launch cadence; Conibio Global is asking authorities to identify the fragments and require repairs for any confirmed environmental harm.
