WarpWare closes $1.2 million pre-seed for space flight-software platform
WarpWare
WarpWare raised a $1.2 million angel-led pre-seed to build an AI-enabled flight software and GN&C platform for space missions.

what happened
Colorado-based WarpWare closed a $1.2 million pre-seed round, raised through SAFEs and primarily angel-funded, to expand what it calls an AI-enabled engineering platform for spacecraft flight software, guidance, navigation and control (GN&C), simulation and testing, per Payload. Angel groups including the Rockies Venture Club, Cowtown Angels and the Aggie Angel Network joined individual angels and two space-focused early-stage funds, Vesper Alpha and Marlboro Lane Ventures. WarpWare CEO and cofounder Alex Reynolds told Payload the company grew out of a question he and cofounder/COO Mickey Mathew asked while working at Sierra Space, about how much of that company's flight software could be reused for a new vehicle; the answer, he said, was almost none. WarpWare says its platform is used by more than 20 organizations across missions including in-space power beaming, NASA science missions, cislunar missions and launch vehicles.
why it matters
A reusable, AI-assisted flight-software platform targets a cost and schedule risk every new spacecraft program currently repeats: building GN&C, simulation and testing environments from scratch. The round is small, but it is a bet that agentic tools can take over commodity spacecraft-software work while engineers retain control of mission-critical decisions, a model other space-software vendors are likely to test as program timelines compress.
