ESI Motion to supply solar array electronics for Lockheed's SDA satellites
ESI Motion · Lockheed Martin
ESI Motion's SuperNova and Pulsar motor controllers will drive solar arrays on Lockheed's SDA missile-tracking satellites.

what happened
ESI Motion said it is supplying Solar Array Drive Electronics, built around its space-rated SuperNova and Pulsar motor controllers, to Lockheed Martin for satellites in the Space Development Agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, which provides missile tracking, secure communication and space-based support, per a company release carried by PR Newswire and SpaceNews. ESI Motion said its SADE technology "will support SDA as the PWSA is developed." No contract value was disclosed.
why it matters
A continuing stream of PWSA subcontracts for solar-array hardware shows the Space Development Agency's proliferated-satellite buildout is pulling in specialized component suppliers beyond its prime contractors, a supply-chain signal for other PWSA bidders and component makers eyeing the program's follow-on tranches.
