Ovzon completes High North Arctic expedition testing with NATO observers

Ovzon

Ovzon tested its GEO satellite and mobile terminals nearly 1,300 km inside the Arctic Circle with NATO country observers.

what happened

Ovzon said July 9 it completed a third High North expedition, testing the Ovzon 3 satellite and its Ovzon T6 and T7 mobile terminals to nearly 1,300 km inside the Arctic Circle, per Via Satellite. Representatives of four NATO countries observed and independently tested the system's performance during the multi-day expedition, which also validated features of the Ovzon On-Board-Processor used in the Ovzon Orion service.

why it matters

Arctic connectivity is a stated NATO priority as the alliance expands High North operations, and repeated independent testing by allied observers builds the track record Ovzon needs to win military satcom contracts in the region, where its GEO-based system competes with LEO alternatives for guaranteed capacity.
