what happened

ESA confirmed July 16 that its Henon CubeSat, a deep-space technology demonstrator built by Italy's Argotec, will launch as a secondary passenger on the Ariane 6 flight carrying the Plato exoplanet telescope in early 2027, per ESA's own release. A feasibility study conducted with Arianespace confirmed CubeSats can be safely accommodated as secondary payloads on Ariane 6, which can fit up to four 16U CubeSats. Henon is funded through the Italian Space Agency's ALCOR programme with contributions from the UK and Finland.
