what happened

Beijing-based Xingchen Daohe (星辰道合) raised nearly 100 million yuan ($14.8 million) in a new funding round, per SpaceNews and PEdaily (投资界). The round included Beihang Tianhui incubator, Zhenghan Capital, Qidi Star Ventures, Yayu Ventures, Yunhui Capital, Xinhai Capital, and state-linked Changsha City Development. Founded in 2024 out of Beihang University aerospace research, the company will use the funds for development, deployment, and team-building on its Guanlan satellite constellation for space situational awareness, in-orbit services, and space traffic management.

why it matters

Guanlan joins a crowded field of Chinese commercial SSA constellations under development, including Geovis Insighter and Kaiyun United/Creatunion, part of a stated push to localize satellite-tracking data and reduce reliance on US-sourced tracking information. For satellite operators and insurers, more competing SSA data providers means more options for collision-avoidance and traffic-management services outside the US-centric ecosystem.
