Per Stratnews Global, Bangalore-based startup Aule Space recently completed a technology demonstration at the Rendezvous Simulation Laboratory (RSL) at ISRO's ISITE facility, the same lab used to validate India's SpaDeX docking mission, becoming the first non-government organisation given access to it. Ground tests recreated orbital lighting conditions with sun simulators and robotic arms to simulate target motion, validating Aule's camera-based, AI-assisted non-cooperative docking approach, which is designed to attach to a satellite's liquid apogee motor nozzle without a dedicated docking port. The company is targeting an in-orbit demonstration next year involving two satellites autonomously docking in low Earth orbit.

Aule is pitching autonomous jetpack-style servicers that dock with ageing geostationary satellites to take over station-keeping and extend their working lives; access to ISRO's own docking-validation infrastructure is an early credibility marker for a small, pre-revenue entrant in the same life-extension market Northrop Grumman, Astroscale, and Orbit Fab are pursuing.
