Lynk and Omnispace closed their merger as Elveo Mobile, and investor SES announced an expanded D2D investment and collaboration.
what happened
Lynk Global and Omnispace completed the merger they first announced in October 2025, closing the transaction on August 14, 2026 and relaunching as Elveo Mobile, per the companies' joint release and SpaceNews. The combined company pairs Omnispace's globally coordinated S-band spectrum rights with Lynk's satellite platform and cellular-frequency agreements, and states commercial agreements with more than 50 mobile network operators across 60+ countries. Ramu Potarazu, formerly Lynk's CEO, leads Elveo from its Washington, D.C. area headquarters. SES, an existing investor in the combined entity, announced Aug. 17 an expanded strategic investment and collaboration, per its own release: SES will combine its GEO and MEO networks with Elveo's LEO network for what the companies call the first multi-orbit integrated D2D solution, and will support Elveo's go-to-market, engineering, operations and regulatory efforts, with the two also collaborating on global spectrum initiatives.
