Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology, which operates the Qianfan (SpaceSail) constellation, closed a Series B round of about 7 billion yuan ($1 billion) on August 19, per the South China Morning Post. Eighteen investors joined the round, including state-backed Shanghai Alliance Investment and CAS Star; the new capital represents about 13.94% equity, valuing the company at roughly 50 billion yuan.
