India's Technology Development Board is backing GalaxEye's OptoSAR satellite with 63.84 crore rupees in convertible debentures.

what happened
India's Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science and Technology, agreed to provide GalaxEye Space Solutions 63.84 crore rupees through Optionally Convertible Debentures to develop its OptoSAR satellite technology, per TDB and multiple Indian outlets Sept. 24. The satellite combines synthetic aperture radar and electro-optical imaging for sub-0.5 metre resolution and is meant to advance the technology from TRL-6 to TRL-9; the total project cost is stated at 247.69 crore rupees.
why it matters
The award extends India's push to fund homegrown dual-use Earth-observation sensor technology through non-equity government financing, adding to GalaxEye's runway after its Mission Drishti satellite was lost at launch in July and its OptoSAR sensor-fusion patent grant in September.
