ADA Space expands orbital computing constellation to 20 satellites
ADA Space · LandSpace
LandSpace's Zhuque-2E rocket delivered eight more computing satellites for ADA Space's Three-Body constellation, taking it to 20.

what happened
LandSpace's Zhuque-2E Y4 rocket lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Test Zone within the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 14, carrying eight satellites (serial numbers 44 through 50 plus 39) for ADA Space and Zhejiang Lab's Three-Body Computing Constellation, designated Group-02, alongside two laser-communication test satellites, per China in Space, corroborated by Global Times and independently by China's state broadcaster CGTN. The launch expands the constellation to 20 satellites; China in Space reports the new craft will connect to the existing network in the coming days to demonstrate expanded onboard compute capacity, ground-linked laser communication, and unfurlable cooling radiators. CGTN described the effort as part of China's "Xing Suan" space-based-computing program, aimed at processing satellite data in orbit rather than transmitting all of it to the ground, and said the mission also tested liquid-cooling systems and foundation-model training in space.
why it matters
Three-Body's batches are a running data point on how fast China can scale in-space computing, a satellite business line still mostly conceptual outside China. This is only the second batch since the first 12 satellites went up in May 2025, and a successful, on-schedule follow-on launch independently confirmed by state broadcaster CGTN is the clearest evidence yet that the constellation is more than a one-off demo, something rivals and investors in the emerging orbital-compute market will track.
