Manastu Space, Inspecity, VyomIC, MumbaiSemi win IN-SPACe tech grants
Manastu Space · Inspecity Space Laboratories · VyomIC · MumbaiSemi · IN-SPACe
IN-SPACe gave four Indian startups Rs 67.15 crore combined for propulsion, refuelling, timing and navigation-chip technology.

what happened
IN-SPACe, India's space promotion agency, selected four companies on October 31 for its second round of Technology Adoption Fund grants, totaling Rs 67.15 crore: Manastu Space gets Rs 22.08 crore to develop an iodine-fuelled satellite propulsion system, Inspecity Space Laboratories gets Rs 21.18 crore for in-orbit satellite refuelling technology, VyomIC gets Rs 12.55 crore for precision clocks for deep-space navigation, and MumbaiSemi gets Rs 11.34 crore to design a chip compatible with both GPS and India's NavIC system, per ThePrint and Lapaas Voice. The round builds on IN-SPACe's first TAF selection in June 2026, which funded Astrobase Space Technologies, SatSure Analytics India, and TM2SPACE Technologies.
why it matters
The grants extend India's push to build a domestic supplier base for satellite propulsion, servicing, timing, and navigation hardware rather than importing it, continuing a pattern set by the June TAF round. IN-SPACe chairman Pawan Goenka framed the fund as reducing reliance on foreign technology while building capacity to export Indian-made space systems, a goal that matters to ISRO and Indian satellite builders looking for qualified domestic component suppliers.
