Cosmoserve raises $6 million, opens India's first private debris-removal facility
Cosmoserve Space
Hyderabad's Cosmoserve Space raised $6 million and opened Base 1, which it calls India's first private debris-removal facility.

what happened
Cosmoserve Space raised $6 million in a seed round led by Rebright Partners, with Aranya Holdings and Naandi Ventures joining and existing investors AUM Ventures and Shakti VC doubling down, Inc42 reported November 5. The Hyderabad startup, founded in June 2025 by former ISRO scientist Chiranjeevi Phanindra, also opened Base 1, which it describes as India's first private and the world's sixth facility built for satellite-servicing and debris-recovery technology development, Telangana Today reported.
why it matters
A dedicated debris-recovery test facility gives Cosmoserve its own hardware-validation path ahead of a planned capture demonstration, in a market where India has no established commercial in-orbit-servicing incumbent yet. Operators and insurers tracking debris-removal capacity outside the US and Europe get a new India-based name to watch.
