Roscosmos is the State Corporation for Space Activities of the Russian Federation, responsible for space flights, cosmonautics programs, and aerospace research. It was established in 1992 as the Russian Space Agency and took its current form as a state corporation after a 2015 merger with the United Rocket and Space Corporation, effective 1 January 2016. Roscosmos operates from the National Space Centre in Moscow and uses the Baikonur, Plesetsk, and Vostochny cosmodromes. Dmitry Bakanov has served as its director general since February 2025.
